NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be held by the Kittitas County board of commissioners (BOCC) in the Commissioners’ Auditorium, 205 West 5th Ave, Room 109, Kittitas County Courthouse on December 2, 2025.
The purpose of the public hearing is to review 1/10th of 1% tax funding for mental health (MH) and substance use disorder (SUD) programs and services in Kittitas County, receive comments on the use of 1/10th MH and SUD funding, and deny, approve, or continue the public hearing to address the sunset clause for funding.
On December 7, 2021, the BOCC held a public hearing and implemented the 1/10th tax of 1% sales tax for mental health and chemical dependency (substance use disorder). With implementation, the BOCC set a 2027 sunset clause with the goal of gathering data and show community impact with this tax funding.
Information about the tax and programs and services, can be found via the Kittitas County Public Health Department website. Information about the public hearing will be available and comments may also be submitted in writing to Kittitas County Board of County Commissioners by Monday, December 1, 2025 at 2:00pm.
